Seawater or intermediate loop
State which cooling water flows through the condenser. Direct seawater and an intermediate loop are different selection conditions. BITZER documents shell-and-tube versions for different media; exact execution and materials must be checked. A K-series reference must not be assumed seawater resistant without verifying the applicable version. Installation aboard a ship does not itself establish corrosion suitability.
Existing heat-exchanger details
Supply nameplate, serial number, refrigerant, connections and photographs of the covers and complete assembly. Replacement also requires dimensions and removal space; a new selection needs operating conditions and flow defined by the engineer. A catalogue description identifies the family but does not replace a circuit-level technical check. Capacity comparisons without their operating conditions can be misleading.
Spare parts and documentation
Associate a cover, gasket or other part with its destination condenser model. Describe its position and provide a photograph when a drawing reference is unavailable. Similar condenser size does not establish shared spare parts. Materials and executions can differ, making identification necessary before supply is confirmed. Any relevant project documentation should accompany the enquiry rather than be inferred from the port location.
Example: condenser receipt in Norfolk
A shell-and-tube condenser enquiry for a vessel in Norfolk needs both technical data and a specific receiver: terminal, workshop or agent with a confirmed address. The city name does not replace port instructions or guarantee ship access. Keep vessel, contact, date and project reference with the enquiry. The quotation confirms availability, documents and transport conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Is every shell-and-tube condenser suitable for seawater?
No. Check exact execution and materials against the cooling water used.
Are matching connection diameters enough?
No. Reference, conditions, materials, dimensions and interfaces also require checking.
Can I request gaskets or covers without replacing the condenser?
Enquire using the model, execution and part identity. Supply is confirmed after reference review.
What is needed for a new selection?
The engineer must define refrigerant, operating conditions, cooling water, flow and mounting constraints.
What if the vessel has no IMO number?
Leave the field blank. Give its name and available identifiers; IMO is not required to send an enquiry.
Can a marina or agent receive the shipment?
Provide receiver and address. Availability, transport, access and receipt conditions are confirmed in the offer.
Who is the buyer?
The purchasing organisation. Owner, requester and receiving agent may differ and must be identified separately.
Does a port page imply local stock?
No. It describes a receiving context and does not claim a warehouse or stock at that location.
Can I attach the part and nameplate photographs?
Yes. The form accepts up to three JPG, PNG or WebP images, up to four megabytes each.
Is an enquiry an order?
No. It requests checking and a quotation. The commercial transaction is managed with AACORE SUPPLY.
