Compressors and spare parts for ship air conditioning

Prepare an enquiry for the circuit serving cabins, shared spaces or other areas aboard the vessel. An existing compressor provides a starting point for replacement review; a new project requires the complete system, design conditions and intended supply scope to be identified.

Identify the system architecture

Explain whether the enquiry concerns a compressor in a chiller, a direct expansion unit or another installed assembly. Include both compressor and machine nameplates. Where several circuits or stages exist, identify the affected one; a general chiller photograph does not always distinguish the executions of all its installed compressors.

Review connections and actual onboard supply

Record actual electrical supply, available starting diagram, refrigerant, oil and equipment connections. Do not infer compatibility from motor power or brand alone. For replacement, the responsible technician must review electrical integration, controls and operating conditions before confirming the model. This page helps gather the information needed for that technical enquiry.

Distinguish refrigerant and seawater circuits

Where the system rejects heat through a water-cooled condenser, identify its actual fluid and component reference. Installation aboard a ship does not make every condenser resistant to seawater. Materials, execution and applicable documentation must be reviewed before requesting a replacement condenser or parts for its water circuit.

Identification and selection details

Reference pages to identify existing equipment

These pages help identify installed references. Membership of a family with marine applications is not a capacity selection or an approval of this model for your installation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I request a replacement from motor power alone?

Motor power alone does not identify a suitable replacement. Full model, refrigerant, operating conditions, electrical supply, connections and installed machine controls must be reviewed before the proposed reference is treated as equivalent.

Do you need the chiller plate as well as the compressor plate?

Yes. Both help identify the assembly and its integration. The machine manufacturer may incorporate a particular compressor execution; include its serial number and identify the affected circuit or stage.

Can a cold room compressor be used for ship air conditioning?

That should not be assumed from a shared brand or family. Application, refrigerant and operating conditions determine the technical review of each execution before a compressor is selected or replaced.

What if the machine has several apparently similar compressors?

Identify each compressor from its own nameplate and circuit. State which one is affected and the requested components; similar appearance does not establish interchangeable electrical executions or spare parts.

Can you supply a condenser intended to operate with seawater?

The component and its documented execution must first be identified. Not every water-cooled condenser accepts seawater; materials, connections and conditions must be checked before a suitable quotation is prepared.

Should the replacement retain the existing compressor starting arrangement?

The responsible technician must review starting and control requirements against the proposed execution. Supply the available diagram; a single base model can have variants requiring different electrical integration.

Can similar-looking gaskets or protection devices be substituted?

Matching size or appearance does not confirm compatibility. Provide reference, model, serial number and drawing position; protection devices must match the actual compressor execution and the installed system requirements.

What information is needed to condition a new area aboard the vessel?

Describe spaces, design conditions, proposed installation and required scope. Floor area or cabin count alone cannot size the equipment; the project requires technical selection of the complete system.

Does a catalogue product automatically have a marine certificate?

No. A manufacturer presenting a family for marine use does not establish that every execution has the required certificate. State classification society and documentation requirements before the quotation is reviewed.

Can the enquiry separate compressors, parts and integration services?

Yes, describe each supply and service separately. The offer must expressly confirm its scope; requesting material does not include engineering, installation, onboard access or commissioning tests by default.
